may be made out to SPORTS and should be mailed to us at: Farmers Insurance Open PGA Golf Tournament January 23-29 to Benefit S4EA The Farmers Insurance Open PGA Golf Tournament is January 23-29 at the Torrey Pines Golf Course. S4EA is running 2 concession booths during the week with part of the proceeds benefiting S4EA. Call S4EA at 858-565-7432 if you want to help & also get a chance to see some of the best golfers in the PGA. 9th Annual Guacamole Bowl February 25th at Balboa Park Club to Support S4EA The 9th Annual Law Enforcement "Guacamole Bowl" will be held February 25, 2012 from 10am-2pm at the Balboa Park Club. The Guacamole Bowl is expected to attract more than 1,000 guests who will taste guacamole from more than 35 teams and will help determine who makes the best guacamole. The public is invited to attend for $5. Teams compete in Law Enforcement, Kiwanis, Professional, and Open Divisions. To enter a team, the Entry Fee is $25. Each division has sponsorship opportunities from $50 for an Entertainment Sponsor up to $5,000 for the Championship Round Sponsor. The proceeds benefit S4EA. Last year's "Guacamole Bowl" raised over $11,000. 39 teams competed in four categories (Law Enforcement, Kiwanis, Open Division #1, Open Division #2) with over 1,400 people tasting the guacamole and choosing the finalists in each division. San Diego Retired Fire & Police Association won the Law Enforcement Division. South Bay Kiwanis won the Kiwanis Division. Our Lady of Guacamole won the Open Division #1. The Cheese Enchiladas won the Open Division #2. Dunkelmole won the People's Choice Award with the Cheese Enchiladas winning the Best Decor Award. Congratulations to the San Diego Retired Fire & Police Association for winning the coveted "Guacamole Bowl" Trophy as the top team in 2011. Click here for last year's Guacamole Bowl Program. S4EA 'Bunco' Fundraiser April 20th at S4EA/North Shores Auditorium S4EA is planning another "Bunco" fundraiser on Friday, April 20th at the S4EA/North Shores Auditorium (9575 Aero Drive, San Diego 92123) from 6-8pm. Tickets are $20 - which includes hors d'oeuvres, soft drinks and two rounds of tournament play. Prizes will be given for most wins, most losses and most Buncos. This is a unique fundraising adventure that will be fun for all. Click here for Bunco Rules. The S4EA "Bunco" fundraiser on January 13th was a great success with over $1,400 made for S4EA. A fun time was had by the 59 people attending. Bake Sale Fundraiser The Bake Sale fundraiser on November 12th was a great success. Despite pouring rain, S4EA made over $500. Souplantation Fundraiser The Souplantation fundraiser on November 21st at the Kearny Mesa Souplantation was a great success with 75-100 S4EA supporters enjoying dinner while helping S4EA at the same time. 4th Annual "A Taste 4 SPORTS" Gala Fundraiser August 4th at San Diego Hall of Champions A Taste 4 SPORTS: Our 4th Annual “A Taste 4 SPORTS” gala fundraiser on August 4, 2011 at the San Diego Hall of Champions was a great success raising over $60,000 for S4EA. 400 guests had the opportunity to taste food and wine from over 25 restaurants, caterers, and wineries. Music was provided throughout the evening by 'The Rob Thorsen Quartet' featuring Gilbert Castellanos on trumpet. $12,000 was raised at the fabulous silent & live auction which had many fantastic items to bid on. A raffle drawing had many great prizes. Our S4EA athletes greeted the guests. A video about S4EA by peer volunteer Luann Nguyen was shown. Special guests - athlete singer Sofi Bricnet and athlete drummer Jordan Pierce - performed a couple of songs. Perette Godwin from Fox 5 San Diego was master of ceremonies. Celebrities included Bill Walton, Monique Henderson, Mark Belger, John Howard, Leon White, Milena Glusac, gold medal Team del Sol Synchronized Ice Skaters, and special celebrity guest Mad Mike from MTV's Pimp My Ride.
