SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes is a San Diego-based sports program serving athletes with developmental disabilities ages 5 through adult.
We exist to create enhanced opportunities for people with and without disabilities to interact and form lasting bonds of friendship through shared sports and recreational activities in their communities.

SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes offers 24 sports in 4 sports seasons. Sports include baseball, basketball, bocce, bowling, cross country & downhill skiing, cycling, figure & speed skating, flag football, floor hockey, golf, judo, sailing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, soccer, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track & field, volleyball, and walking/exercise.
Athletes with developmental disabilities, families, friends & others can play and compete.

Carnitas' Snack Shack North Park: The North Park Carnitas Snack Shack (2632 University Ave., San Diego 92101) is donating 15% of sales from 5-9pm to S4EA on Wednesday, September 6. Bring this Carnitas Flyer on September 6. For more info, click here.
Kaaboo Music Festival: S4EA is running 1-2 drink booths with proceeds benefiting S4EA at the Kaaboo Music Festival September 15-17 at the San Diego/Del Mar Fairgrounds - Adults 21 and over can volunteer by completing an alcohol server course - Click here for S4EA-Kaaboo Volunteer Registration.
Pancake Breakfast: The S4EA Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, September 23 from 8-10am at S4EA/North Shores.
Jani Tyler Halloween Party: The S4EA/Jani Tyler Halloween Party, for registered S4EA athletes, is scheduled for Sat, October 14 from 5-8pm at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Mira Mesa. (11023 Pegasus, San Diego 92126). Halloween Costumes are encouraged; No masks at all; Costume Parade with Prizes; DJ to provide music; Light Dinner served. Must be pre-registered to attend. Must RSVP to S4EA at 858-565-7432 by Oct. 9.
Bunco: S4EA presents 'Bunco' on Friday, November 3 at S4EA/North Shores (9575 Aero Dr., San Diego 92123) from 6-8pm.

S4EA Soccer and Golf Tournament: The S4EA Soccer and Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, August 27th from 9am-5pm at Morley Field in Balboa Park.
S4EA Softball, Cycling, and Tennis Tournament: The S4EA Softball, Cycling, and Tennis Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, September 10th from 9am-5pm at Morley Field in Balboa Park.
S4EA Swim Meet: The S4EA Swim Meet is scheduled for Saturday, September 30th from 8am-1pm at St. Madeleine Sophie's Center.
S4EA Bocce and Flag Football Tournament: The S4EA Bocce and Flag Football Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, October 15th from 8:30am-4pm at La Jolla Country Day School.

SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes offers 3 sessions of S4EA Camps throughout the year. The S4EA Camps in 2017 are as follows: S4EA Surf Camp Session #1 is scheduled April 21-23 at the YMCA Camp Surf in Imperial Beach; S4EA SPORTS Camp Session #2 is scheduled for August 11-13 at Wildwood Ranch in Ramona; and S4EA Halloween SPORTS Camp Session #3 takes place October 20-22 at Green Oak Ranch in Vista.
Athletes spend 2 nights in cabins and eat camp meals under the guidance of camp counselors/chaperones. Persons with developmental disabilities, families, friends, volunteers, coaches, and supporters are all welcome to join in the fun with S4EA at the S4EA Camps.

S4EA hosts a variety of fundraisers throughout the year. A Pancake Breakfast is held twice a year in the fall and in the spring at S4EA/North Shores from 8-10am. The Fall Pancake Breakfast is scheduled on Saturday, September 23rd which includes an Athlete Council meeting to schedule upcoming activities. A Bunco Fundraiser is held four times a year at S4EA/North Shores with the next one on Friday, November 3rd from 6-8pm.
S4EA also hosts an annual Guacamole Bowl to be held February 24, 2018 at the Balboa Park Club. Our major fundraiser is "A Taste 4 SPORTS" scheduled for Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Balboa Park Club (Note: new location across parking lot from SD Hall of Champions).
