Join S4EA at Pancake Breakfast​ on Sep 27, Oktoberfest on Oct 11, and Bingo/Haunted House on Oct 25 at S4EA office.  S4EA is running our summer sports in bocce, cycling, soccer, softball, swimming, and tennis. S4EA Summer Tournaments

S4EA athletes have been practicing all summer to get ready for the following upcoming tournaments:

S4EA Pancake Breakfast Saturday Sep 27 at S4EA Office

 

S4EA has scheduled an Outdoor Family Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, September 27 from 8-10am at S4EA Office (8380 Vickers St. #E, San Diego 92111). The breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, milk, juice & coffee for $10 per person. A raffle will be held. An Athlete Council meeting will be held at the end of the pancake breakfast to discuss upcoming Athlete Council Activities. Come join S4EA at our Pancake Breakfast. S4EA Oktoberfest, Dinner & Dance October 11 at S4EA Office

 

​S4EA has scheduled our own version of Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 11 from 3-5:30pm at the S4EA Office  (8380 Vickers St. #E, San Diego 92111). Besides drinking non-alcoholic beer, root beer & other soft drinks, we will be serving brats, sausages, potato pancakes & various other German/food dishes. Participants are encouraged to wear lederhosen or other German attire. Music & lively dancing will take place, Call S4EA at 858-565-7432 to reserve your spot.

S4EA Bingo, Halloween Haunted House & Trunk-or-Treat Oct 25 

 

SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes presents Bingo Bash, Halloween Haunted House & Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, Oct 25 at our S4EA Office (8380 Vickers St. #E, San Diego 92111) in Kearny Mesa from 3-5:30pm. We will play bingo outside at 3:30pm. For $10.00 per set of 4 Bingo Cards, you can play Bingo with families & friends. Bingo winners will receive prizes.

For the Halloween Trunk-or-Treat, anyone interested is encouraged to set-up their Halloween decorations on their vehicle starting at 1:30pm in the parking lot behind the S4EA office.. Participants can walk through the Haunted House in the S4EA office, view the Trunk-or-Treat vehicles, and receive wrapped treats from 3-3:30pm. The Bingo starts at 3:30pm. Call S4EA at 858-565-7432 to reserve your spot.  

S4EA Code of Conduct/

Safe Sports Guidelines 

 

In order for SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes (S4EA) to help safeguard and promote the well-being of athletes, coaches, volunteers and others that participate in any S4EA activities, S4EA would like to follow Safe Sports guidelines, including;

  1. All S4EA coaches, chaperones, staff, and board members should pass a background check every 3 years.

  2. At all S4EA activities with S4EA athletes present, at least 2 adults should be present at the activity.

  3. When driving an S4EA athlete, at least 2 other people should be in the vehicle.

*Exceptions may be made with parents & S4EA Executive Committee approval such as emergencies when an athlete left after practice with no ride, etc.

 

At practices, tournaments, social activities, and special events, the coach to athlete ratio varies considerably. Parents and/or guardians of athletes that need a higher level of supervision will be expected to help supervise their athlete.

 

In order to be a part of S4EA, all participants will be expected to observe and adhere to the following code of conduct:

 

  1. Follow all sports rules of S4EA.

  2. Follow the S4EA Fair Play Guidelines.

  3. Follow all laws of local, state, and federal government.

  4. Illegal drugs will not be tolerated

  5. S4EA is a sports organization. Smoking should be avoided. Alcohol must be avoided at sports practices, tournaments, and SPORTS Camps (including Winter Games & other overnight events).

  6. Respect the rights, dignity & worth of all participants regardless of gender/ability/cultural background/sexual orientation/religion.

  7. Inappropriate or illegal acts by participants will warrant S4EA to take action appropriate to the offense.​

 

Report any violations of Code of Conduct to Executive Director, Associate Director, or S4EA Board of Directors President at S4EA.

Athletes & Chaperones Enjoyed S4EA SPORTS  Camp at Pine Valley Camp 

​

Athletes and chaperones enjoyed the SPORTS Camp August 1st-3rd at Pine Valley Bible Conference Center (PVBCC). 51 campers participated in various sports (basketball, bocce, flag football, quidditch, soccer) and traditional camp activities (crafts, Ga-Ga, hiking, talent show). Campers spent 2 nights in cabins with one bathroom in each cabin and ate 6 camp meals in addition to all of the camp and sports activities under the guidance of 26 camp counselors/chaperones. We did Pine Valley Bible Conference Center run activities including the Zipline, Swimming, Slip N Slide, Human Foosball & Pickleball. On Friday we had a Dance and on Saturday we saw & listened to a lot of memorable singers & dancers at the Talent Show at Windfield Hall.

S4EA urgently needs volunteer coaches this fall for the following:

  • South Bay Bowling on Sat 11am-1pm at Bowlero Chula Vista starting Sep 6

  • South Bay Volleyball on Fri 5-6pm at Otay Recreation Center starting Sep 19 

  • East County Volleyball on Thu 6-7:30pm at Bostonia Recreation Center starting Sep 18

  • North County Volleyball on Thu 6-7pm at Boys & Girls Club-Vista starting Sep 25

  • S4EA needs volunteer coaches this fall in bowling, flag football, floor hockey & volleyball at various practice site locations

SD Parks & Recreation - Therapeutic Rec. Services

 

San Diego Parks & Recreation (SDP&R) – Therapeutic Recreation Services (TRS) provides therapeutic recreation programs for children and adults with any type of disability. SDP&R-TRS is co-sponsoring S4EA activities at SD City Facilities so that S4EA athletes and volunteers also need to register with SDP&R-TRS. S4EA athletes need to either register on-line with SDRecConnect.com or register at the first practice with SDP&R-TRS. The facilities that S4EA uses in the fall are Park de la Cruz-Floor Hockey/Volleyball Mon (Code: 126512), Morley Field Softball Fields-Flag Football Wed (Code: 126513), and Kearny Mesa Recreation Center-Floor Hockey Thu (Code: 126514).

S4EA Fall Sports Season – Bowling, Flag Football, Floor Hockey & Volleyball

​The S4EA Fall Sports Season starts in September with practices and league play in bowling, flag football, floor hockey, and volleyball tentatively scheduled as follows: bowling on Saturdays from 11am-1pm at Bowlero Chula Vista starting Sep 6; flag football on Wednesdays from 5:45-7:15pm at Morley Field starting Sep 10; floor hockey & volleyball league play on Mondays from 5:30-8pm at Park de la Cruz starting Sep 15; floor hockey for juniors on Thursdays from 4-5:30pm at Kearny Mesa Recreation Center starting Sep 18; volleyball for South Bay on Fridays from 5:00-6:00pm at Otay Recreation Center starting Sep 19; volleyball for East County on Thursdays from 6-7:30pm at Bostonia Rec Ctr starting Sep 18; and volleyball for North County on Thu from 6-7pm at the Boys & Girls Club of Vista starting Sep 25.
